This is us

Specialised in contemporary art, graduated with honours from the Università Statale of Milan, I’ve been working in Nomen Italia since 1995, Managing Director since 2005, lecturing on naming at the CUOA in Vicenza, SENAF in Parma and SDA Bocconi in Milan since 2008. I have worked on naming projects with customers in every industry, with a special interest in the pharmaceutical industry: Alfa Wassermann, Chiesi, Dompé, Kedrion, SIFI, Sigma Tau. But arts and numbers are not enough for this job: so to those I add my insatiable curiosity, my passion for thoughts and words and a methodological rigour for making each new name a real brand.

Given the complexity of my name, it was obvious that I should dedicate my professional career to the naming world. Born in Paris, and having spent years in New York and London, I ended up in Milan in 1995 and stayed there. I love languages, cultures and communication and I have studied them all in depth and with great dedication: a degree in American literature and civilisation and a PhD in ethnic studies from the Université Paris Diderot, a Master’s Degree in marketing from the SDA Bocconi in Milan. 20 years’ experience in an international group have enabled me to do what I love: understand the origin of a word, its perceptions on a linguistic and cultural level, its strengths and weaknesses. All this for clients such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Ferrero, Fiat, Unicredit, Telecom and many others.

I believe in the power of words and in sounds that make you fall in love. I believe in it, because I have experienced it first-hand: for me it all begins with a sound, harmonious and intriguing, the sound of languages.

After high school, I decided to expand my language skills at the University of Poitiers, in France, where I graduated in Foreign Languages and Civilisations with a Master's Degree in Italian. The sounds of the Italian language, synonymous with a country rich in history and culture, immediately enraptured me.

After an initial period dedicated to teaching, I moved to Milan so I could hear that irresistible sound day after day. There, in 2015 I crossed paths with Nomen, a place where names are professionally created by playing with sounds, where every name becomes a serious matter.
